Your Options

Metal

Metal braces, also known as traditional braces, are made of high-grade stainless steel and consist of brackets, wires, and elastic bands. The brackets are attached to the teeth with a special adhesive and the wires are threaded through the brackets. The orthodontist will periodically adjust the wires to apply pressure to the teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. Metal braces are highly effective and can treat a wide range of orthodontic problems.

Ceramic

Ceramic braces work in the same way as metal braces, but the brackets are made of a clear or tooth-colored material that blends in with the teeth. This makes them less noticeable than metal braces and may be a good option for people who want a more discreet look

Invisalign

Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gradually move teeth into the desired position. One of the biggest benefits of Invisalign is that the aligners are virtually invisible, making them a popular choice for people who want a more discreet orthodontic treatment option. However, it's important to note that Invisalign may not be suitable for everyone and our orthodontist will determine if it's the right treatment option for you.

    General Questions

How long will the treatment take?

The length of treatment will depend on the severity of the orthodontic issues and the type of treatment being used.

Our orthodontist will provide an estimated timeline based on individual circumstances at your consultation.

What can't I eat with braces?

Don’t worry, you’ll be eating popcorn and snacking on potato chips again in no time!

However, before you can start enjoying some of the treats you love, you will need to take special care to avoid any foods that could damage your new appliances.

Foods to avoid while in treatment include chewy, sticky, crunchy and hard foods

How often do I need to come in for appointments?

Regular appointments are necessary during orthodontic treatment to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments.

The frequency of appointments will depend on the type of treatment and your individual needs.

Will there be soreness caused from the braces?

When you first get your braces, you may notice that your teeth and mouth feel a little tender or sore. This is perfectly normal and we promise your mouth will not be sore forever! To relieve the pain, we recommend dissolving one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of lukewarm water. Swish and gargle this solution in your mouth for just a couple of minutes (do not swallow the saltwater).

If the pain is more severe and does not go away after rinsing, you can also try taking a pain reliever.

Can I play sports with braces?

Game, Set, Match — we have great news for athletes!

You can still play sports even while undergoing orthodontic treatment! If you do play sports, it’s recommended that you wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth and your appliance.

Let your doctor know if you need help finding the right mouthguard for the best protection.
